| WINDOW TREATMENTS |
 More
than an afterthought, window treatments can be a dramatic focal point
for any room in your home. Whether their function is to keep bright
light out of the master bedroom, or to softly illuminate your living
room or den, the right window covering can artfully enhance and accent
your home décor.
Here at A Rosedale Design we have the most
complete selection of window fashions available. We offer innovative
products for evolving lifestyles. From curtains to drapes, shades
to blinds, valances to swags, A Rosedale Design
can do it.
 A
variety of fabrics can be used for traditional drapes, tab tops, café
and hourglass treatments. A large or unusually shaped window can be
transformed into the focal point of the room.
Unlined curtains are more suitable for the kitchen or bathroom where
there is a lot of steam or condensation. More
formal curtains can be backed with various linings which not only
help them to hang better but can aid in insulation and reduce the
amount of light entering the room.
Tab tops can be added to both lined and unlined curtains or valances
for a more contemporary look. Where privacy is needed but light is
essential a café curtain is ideal as it only covers the lower
half of the window.
Sunburst
curtains are usually made out of sheer fabric and are ideal for covering
arched windows and the fanlight windows above doors. You can easily
make a focal point out of an ordinary glass door by adding a simple
hourglass curtain tied at the center with a bow of ribbon.
Blinds are a
very versatile window treatment as there are a variety of styles which
can be used as a standalone treatment or combined with fabric treatments.
The simplest of blinds is a roller blind which can be used anywhere
in the home but are best suited for
either the kitchen or bathroom.
Roman shades, when down, can lie flat. They can be particularly useful
in bow or bay windows where the width of the window can be divided
and the blinds butted against one another.
Austrian shades give a more feminine look as they are gathered both
width and length ways. Cascade blinds fall in between these 2 categories
as they are flat against the window but pull up into flounces. London
blinds are more tailored than Austrian blinds with the fullness coming
from inverted pleats. |
